Ahmad Watsiq Maula, MD, MPH, is a lecturer and researcher at the Department of Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Population Health, Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing, Universitas Gadjah Mada. He earned his medical degree from Universitas Gadjah Mada and completed a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology at the University of Illinois at Chicago, United States.
His academic and research interests include infectious disease epidemiology, health data analysis, health information systems, and public health modeling and surveillance. He has been actively involved in numerous national and international research and consultancy projects funded by organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), UNICEF, and Save the Children, serving as a data manager, analyst, and epidemiological modeler.
His research has been published in several international peer-reviewed journals, including British Journal of Nutrition, Global Health Action, Cureus, and F1000Research, addressing topics such as COVID-19, tuberculosis, social determinants of health, and bibliometric analysis. In addition to his research activities, he teaches epidemiology and biostatistics for undergraduate medical students and graduate public health programs, and regularly serves as a trainer in health data analysis for infectious disease programs in Indonesia.
