Bayu Satria Wiratama, PhD, is a lecturer and researcher at the Department of Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Population Health, Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing, Universitas Gadjah Mada. He holds a Master of Public Health in Field Epidemiology from Universitas Gadjah Mada and earned his PhD from Taipei Medical University, with a specialization in injury prevention and road traffic injury epidemiology.
His research interests focus on injury epidemiology, road safety, infectious disease epidemiology, maternal and child health, and public health surveillance. He has served as principal investigator and collaborator in numerous national and international research projects funded by WHO, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and other global partners, including studies on COVID-19 vaccine effectiveness, maternal and neonatal outcomes, tuberculosis, and global monitoring of maternal and newborn health.
Dr. Wiratama has published extensively in international peer-reviewed journals such as PLoS ONE, BMC Public Health, International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, Nutrients, Psychological Medicine, and BMC Pregnancy and Childbirth. In addition to his research activities, he actively contributes to epidemiology and biostatistics education, as well as scientific conferences and public health capacity-building initiatives at national and international levels.
