Field Epidemiology

Field Epidemiology Interest or FETP (Field Epidemiology Training Program) is an educational program that aims to produce skilled field epidemiologists who will play a role as disease intelligence. FETP Indonesia is a collaborative educational program between universities and the Ministry of Health with reference to the International FETP competency standards.

Objective:

This program aims to produce master-level epidemiologists who have field experience so that they are ready to work independently as disease intelligence to provide epidemiological information and advice for decision makers and evidence-based policies to improve global health security.

Duration of study:

This program consists of academic activities equivalent to 50 Semester Credit Units (SKS) used in accordance with the provisions of the Directorate General of Higher Education and also recognized by ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) and internship activities for a minimum of 68 weeks by carrying out academic tasks under the direction of a field supervisor. Teaching and learning activities are focused on improving students’ abilities in the fields of science and research, managerial and practical skills in the field.

Prospective participants:
Prospective participants interested in FETP are required to have an educational background of S1 Health (Public Health, Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Nutrition, Nursing, or Midwifery). Participants are preferred to those who already have work experience as health workers in health centers or hospitals, disease control program staff or other health programs in health services at district, provincial, national levels, or staff in health-related NGOs. Participants who do not have work experience or are fresh graduates are also welcome to register.
